Thank you for visiting with me today.
It is said that writers are the keepers of history.
I am currently writing my memoir titled Fragments of My Cuban Heart.
It is my story and my witness to the experiences that led me to leave Cuba, my country of birth, alone at the age of fourteen during what was termed the Peter Pan exodus.
What is it like for a child to witness violence, duplicity, hatred...what is it like for a child to watch helplessly as the world she knows disappears? What is it like for a child to leave her father in prison, her mother in her bed suffering a nervous breakdown, her extended family shattered by loss and grief?
I will tell you the story of the child who finds herself alone in a new country. How does she feel? How does she cope? What happens to her as she grows into womanhood?
There is more information about my memoir in the following pages of this website. It is my hope that my work will plant a seed in people's hearts that will one day lead us on a road to peace, a road that will ensure that no child will ever have to experience war or be exiled from everything and everyone that they know and love.
In 1914 I completed my Guevara/Pedro Pan project, a joint collaboration with Martin Guevara that began in late 2009. The books associated with our collaboration were published this summer in English and in Spanish. The English version, titled Shadow of a Myth, was published by Wisdom Moon Publishing. The Spanish version, titled A La Sombra De Un Mito, was published by Alexandria Library Publishing House. Both versions are available on Amazon. The English version is available through multiple distributors in this country and in England, Australia, and Japan. Please visit wisdommoonpublishing.com for more information. Both books are also available as e books. It has been a privilege to be a part of this project.
I will be resuming my private psychotherapy practice on a very limited basis, to include past life regression therapy. With the encouragement of noted psychologist and friend Mitchell Ginsberg, I will begin research on the integration of Chakra Energy in the alignment of relationships, research that I hope will some day become a book that will help therapists and clients alike as we search for more effective ways to heal.
I want to thank all of you who have supported my writing these past years and welcome you to a new chapter of my journey.
I am also privileged to welcome back into my life many of my childhood friends who disappeared in those days of the Cuban Revolution. Thanks to the miracle of modern technology and God's grace, we have been able to locate each other again and find that love is indeed everlasting and friendship more precious than gold. Freedom has been good to us.
